Jazz@Sitrus series set to kick off season two at Sheraton University

The second season of CNY Jazz?s Jazz@Sitrus Series kicks off Friday, Sept. 7, with a performance by Central New York veteran vocalist Nancy Kelly.

The periodic Friday night shows run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the lounge at the Sheraton Syracuse University, 801 University Ave., Syracuse. There?s no admission fee.

CNY Jazz executive director Larry Luttinger says the series has ?expanded stylistically with established names like Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb who will play a night of Texas swing including a Les Paul tribute, Todd Hobin singing from the Great American Songbook, Edgar Pagan?s new Grupo Lite Latin band, and the complete Soda Ash Six for a night of New Orleans Dixieland.?

Here?s the complete lineup for the happy hour shows: Friday, Jan. 11 and April 5 Nancy Kelly; Sept. 21 Cookie Coogan; Oct. 12, March 22 and May 17 Michael and Angela Lynn; Oct. 26 Melissa Gardiner Trio; Nov. 9 Loren Barrigar & Mark Mazengarb; Nov. 30 Soda Ash Six; Dec. 7 Todd Hobin; Jan. 25 Lorenzo; Feb. 22 Grupo Lite; March 8 and May 3 Swing This! with Mark Hoffmann; April 19 Jazz Chix; June 14 Bill Horrace Trio.
